Facial Care Guidelines
Certain skin conditions, medications, or recent treatments may require modifications to ensure your facial is both safe and effective. Please review prior to your service and reach out if you have any questions.
Medical Considerations

Talk to your doctor first if you’re experiencing any of the following:
Taking any medication that may influence skin sensitivity, condition, or blood
Autoimmune disease
High blood pressure (uncontrolled)
Diabetes (uncontrolled)
Prednisone and other steroid medications (treatment will increase inflammation)
Heart problems or diseases
Kidney damage, diseases or problems
Liver damage, diseases or problems
Hemorrhagic disease, trauma or bleeding

Please inform me prior to treatment so we can make adjustments to the facial table and any products

Fever, cold, flu, or any contagious illness
Active cold sore/herpes outbreak
Active sinus infection
Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
Warts, impetigo, ringworm (on any part of your body)
Other bacterial, viral, or fungal infections (on any part of your body)
Visible rashes, sores, lesions, or swelling need to be completely healed prior to your appointment.

Open cuts or wounds
Severe irritation or inflammation
Active rash
Allergic skin reaction
Severe acne flare-up
Recent facial waxing, laser, peel, or resurfacing
Recent tattoo or permanent makeup healing

For Botox - wait 3 days to receive a facial
For cosmetic filler - wait 2 weeks to receive a facial, or as advised by your medical practitioner
For lasers or electrolysis - wait 2 weeks to receive a facial, or as advised by your medical practitioner
Recent facial surgery
Dental procedures causing facial tenderness/swelling
Medical procedures affecting the skin barrier
Pre-treatment Advice

Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning
Discontinue use of retinol, Retin-A, tretinoin, Vitamin A, and alpha hydroxy acid products (glycolic or lactic acid), and salicylic acid products
Avoid chemical peels or aggressive exfoliation
Avoid waxing, threading, or dermaplaning the treatment area
Avoid injectable treatments unless approved timing has passed

All first time guests should schedule the Signature Glow Facial so I can properly analyze your skin and we can discuss which treatments are right for you.

Yes! But if it’s your first facial with me, I recommend booking a month prior to your event. If you’re a regular client, I recommend 1-2 weeks prior to your event.

The modern approach to treating acne and breakouts is to heal skin from within. Extractions may offer a temporary breakout reduction but don’t treat the underlying issue and honestly, they can make acne worse. I recommend scheduling a consultation for a targeted treatment plan.

Yes! Just be sure to wait 2 weeks before receiving a facial.

Yes! Skin retinol for 3 days prior to your facial.

Trust me, I’m dying to ask you a million questions and get to know you. However, I believe facials should be relaxing, so I make it a habit not to talk. During the first 5 minutes of your facial I may ask about your at-home products and skincare goals to help me create your treatment plan.
